About YesLetter: FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions About YesLetter.com
| Q: Is it really 100% free? |
| A: Yes! From 2003 through 2006, we charged a membership free to access the content on this site. After the founders graduated from college, however, they decided that the wealth of resources they had built should be free and available to everyone in the admissions process. From that day forward, YesLetter converted to a not-for-profit organization. |
| Q: Why should I visit YesLetter? |
| A: Learning from YesLetter can help ensure
the success and happiness of any modern student. We encourage
you to shop around and explore all ways you can help yourself
or your children make the right decisions when going through
high school and applying to colleges. We're confident that
you won't discover any other tool as valuable and cost-effective
as YesLetter. |
Q: I'm looking at a lot of schools, but they're
not all top-tier. Am I in the wrong place?
|
| A: Of course not. All of our content
is written with the applicant in mind, not the school. We
simply highlight the most high-profile colleges because
of their popularity among modern college applicants. We'd
encourage you apply to at least one of these schools, but
are confident that we can help your chances at any institution. |
| Q: Can I purchase this website in book or CD form? |
| A: No. Nowhere in print is there such
a comprehensive and well-organized compilation of admissions-related
strategies, information and advice. You could spend hundreds
of dollars at your local bookstore and still not cover all
of the topics we address on this site. Additionally, our
ever-growing discussion forums are refreshed on a daily
basis and consistently address the topics that today's students
care about. No book alone can match them. |
| Q: Can you fly out for personal consultations? |
| A: Not right now. Although we maintain
a vast network of admissions professionals and seasoned
veterans of the process, our primary goal is to make their
knowledge accessible to everyone, not just those who can
pay. There are a number of private consulting companies
that offer advice sessions for hundreds or even thousands
of dollars per consultation. Our goal is to make the knowledge
those services provide available to the masses for free. Read more about our
philosophies on college admissions counseling in our Mission
Statement. |
| Q: I have a question that isn't answered here.
Can you answer it? |
